WASHINGTON, May 9 -- The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights issued the following statement by Kristine Lucius, executive vice president for policy and government affairs, on the Senate Judiciary Committee votes to advance the nominations of Jeffrey Brown to be U.S. District Judge for the Southern District of Texas and Brantley Starr to be U.S. District Judge for the Northern District of Texas:
