HOUSTON, Texas, April 8 -- Rice University issued the following news release:
Rice University will commemorate the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission on April 12 with two campus events and a visit from NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine.
Apollo 11 was the historic spaceflight that landed the first two people on the moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin touched down on the lunar surface on July 20, 1969.
