LINCOLN, Nebraska, April 5 -- The Nebraska Democratic Party issued the following news release:
Reps. Don Bacon, Jeff Fortenberry and Adrian Smith turned their backs on Nebraska's women Thursday by failing to support reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.
The U.S. House passed the measure 263-158. Bacon and Smith voted "no." Fortenberry voted "present" -- which is basically the same as a "no."
