AUSTIN, Texas, April 3 -- The Republican Party of Texas issued the following news:
The Texas Democratic Party issued a press release falsely claiming "Texas Republicans push death penalty for doctors who perform abortions." Texas House Bill 2350 would create a civil penalty against anyone who performs an abortion should the U.S. Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade.
