NEWPORT, Rhode Island, Dec. 1 -- The office of Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-Rhode Island, issued the following statement on the death of President George H.W. Bush:
"Today I join all Americans in remembering the life and legacy of President Bush, who served his country in uniform and in office.
