WASHINGTON, Sept. 7 -- The office of Sen. Benjamin Cardin, D-Maryland, issued the following statement at the conclusion of Judge Brett Kavanaugh's testimony in the Senate Judiciary Committee on his confirmation to fill the Supreme Court vacancy left by Justice Anthony Kennedy:
