COOPERSTOWN, New York, Sept. 5 -- The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum issued the following news release:
Defending champion John Elliott of Bristol, Conn., shot a 4-under-par 67 on Wednesday to take the first-round lead at the Otesaga Hotel Seniors Open in Cooperstown.
Elliott, who shot a 68 in the opening round in 2017 en route to an 8-under par 205 victory, was one shot ahead of Mark Brown of Oyster Bay, N.Y., who shot a 68 on Wednesday.
