WASHINGTON, Aug. 23 -- The office of Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, issued the following news release:
U.S. Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) announced today that the Senate-passed FY 2019 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies appropriations bill includes $3.7 billion in new funding to help combat the opioid epidemic, including $232 million in funding for evidence-based programs authorized by Portman's Comprehensive Addiction & Recovery Act (CARA) in 2016. < . . .
