Rep. Shea-Porter Issues Statement on Mental Health Funding

DOVER, New Hampshire, Aug. 23 -- Rep. Carol Shea-Porter, D-New Hampshire, a member of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, issued the following statement after reports that the Department of Education is considering a plan to use mental health and other critical student support funds to instead purchase firearms for teachers:

"Secretary DeVos's plan to commandeer funding designated for mental health services, bullying awareness, and dropout prevention programs . . .
