ALBANY, New York, June 7 -- The New York State Senate (majority) issued the following news release:
The New York State Senate today passed a bill to help alleviate the financial burden on many college students caused by the additional cost of textbooks and other course materials. The bill (S6608), sponsored by Senator Pamela Helming (R-C-I, Canandaigua) would reduce the cost of textbooks by promoting pricing transparency and alternatives to conventional textbooks, such as e-books. < . . .
