AFT Issues Statement on School Overcrowding Reduction Act

WASHINGTON, June 6 -- The American Federation of Teachers issued the following statement by President Randi Weingarten in suppport for the School Overcrowding Reduction Act sponsored by Rep. Joe Crowley, D-New York, which would create a $500 million fund for school construction geared toward school districts with student-to-teacher ratios greater than 25-to-one:
