LANSING, Michigan, May 14 -- The Michigan Department of Education issued the following news release:
Michigan's State Board of Education has named Sheila Alles as the Interim State Superintendent, following the death last week of State Superintendent Brian Whiston.
Alles has been the Chief Deputy State Superintendent at the Michigan Department of Education since March 2017.
