AG Becerra Issues Statement on Eliminating CFPB's Office Dedicated to Protecting Students

SACRAMENTO, California, May 9 -- California Attorney General Xavier Becerra issued the following statement in response to the decision by Mick Mulvaney, Acting Director of Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, to eliminate the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau office dedicated to protecting students:
"Mick Mulvaney, whose very position as Acting Director is legally suspect, has chosen to abandon the CFPB's office established to oversee college financial aid and lending . . .
