ALBANY, New York, May 7 -- The New York State Senate (majority) issued the following news release:

The New York State Senate today passed a sweeping affordability package that focuses on property taxes, energy costs, unfunded mandates, and other drivers that are making it harder for middle-class families to succeed.

The measures would result in billions of dollars in savings annually for taxpayers in the form of new and expanded property tax cuts - including the state . . .
