ALEXANDRIA, Virginia, March 25 -- The National School Boards Association issued the following statement by Executive Director and CEO Thomas J. Gentzel on the 2018 federal budget:
"The federal budget for 2018 passed by Congress and signed by President Trump is a welcome step in the right direction. Restoring funds and allocating funding for new investments in public education is needed after years of cuts that squeezed budgets that were hit very hard during the Great Recession. . . .
