Western Illinois Senior Olympics Renamed for WIU Professor Emeritus George Hermann

MACOMB, Illinois, March 5 -- Western Illinois University issued the following news release:

To celebrate the life of Western Illinois University Professor Emeritus George Hermann, a popular physical education activity was renamed in his memory.

The Western Illinois Senior Olympics, which Hermann founded in 1980, will now be known as the George Hermann Western Illinois Senior Olympics. Hermann's family was surprised with the announcement during a ceremony on campus . . .
