BATON ROUGE, Louisiana, Jan. 23 -- Gov. John Bel Edwards, D-Louisiana, issued the following statement on the decline of unemployment:
Today, Gov. John Bel Edwards released the following statement on the announcement that the state's unemployment rate declined for the eighth consecutive month to 4.6 percent. The last time the unemployment figure was lower was in March of 2008. As a further sign of improvement, today Louisiana's unemployment rate ranks 37th in the nation compared to 4 . . .
