WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 -- Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Michigan, issued the following statement on the federal government shutdown:
"It is unacceptable that after a year of putting off critical priorities and hurtling from one short-term funding bill to the next, President Trump and the Republicans who control the House and Senate refuse to work to find common ground to meet the needs of the American people. This shutdown is not good for this country and is completely avoidable.
