NEW YORK, Jan. 19 -- The U.S. Fund for UNICEF issued the following statement by Regional Director Geert Cappelaere:
"Iraq today hosts one of UNICEF's largest operations in the world, responding with humanitarian and development assistance to the needs of the most vulnerable girls and boys across the country.
"More than 4 million children have been impacted by extreme violence in several areas including in Ninewa and al-Anbar. Last year alone, 270 children . . .
