WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 -- The National Association of Broadcasters issued the following statement by Dennis Wharton, executive vice president of communications, in response to a press release from American Television Alliance on retransmission consent disruptions in 2017:

"ATVA should look in the mirror to determine who's really responsible for retrans disruptions.

"ATVA's own members - the largest pay-TV companies in business - cynically force impasses . . .
