Sen. Murray Comments on Department of Education Delaying Protections for Children of Color

WASHINGTON, Dec. 15 -- Sen. Patty Murray, D-Washington, ranking Democratic member of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, issued the following statement on the Department of Education's announcement to consider delaying protections for children of color and students with disabilities:
"Children of color are often held back from accessing the same opportunities as their peers because they are disproportionately punished or put in separate special educ . . .
