ST. PAUL, Minnesota, Dec. 14 -- Gov. Mark Dayton, D-Minnesota, issued the following news release:
Governor Mark Dayton today announced that he will appoint Lieutenant Governor Tina Smith to serve as United States Senator for Minnesota. Smith will be appointed to serve a one-year term in the Senate, concluding in January 2019.
