FALLS CHURCH, Va., Nov. 2 -- Fairfax County Public Schools issued the following news release:
Herndon High student Elsa Arita is one of five students in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area who will be recognized at the Children's Defense Fund 2017 Beat the Odds celebration on Tuesday, November 7. The event is designed to highlight the achievements of local students who have overcome extraordinary adversity to excel academically and give back to their communities.
