LAWRENCE, Mass., Nov. 1 -- The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education issued the following news release:
A Lawrence middle school science teacher today was surprised with a prestigious 2017 Milken Educator Award.
Dan Adler, a sixth-grade science teacher at UP Academy Leonard Middle School, became the state's 44th Milken Award winner. He is the only Massachusetts recipient in 2017-18, the first Lawrence honoree, and one of up to 45 recipients . . .
