JUNEAU, Alaska, Oct. 31 -- Gov. Bill Walker, R-Alaska, issued the following proclamation:
WHEREAS, nurse practitioners (NPs) are advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) who have advanced clinical education and training that significantly builds upon initial registered nurse preparation; and
WHEREAS, there are 234,000 licensed nurse practitioners in the United States, and 1,000 in Alaska, providing primary acute specialty care to patients of all ages and backgrounds; . . .
