WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 -- The office of Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., chairman of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, issued the following opening statement on getting electronic health records "out of the ditch" is critical to the future of medical innovation:
