CARLISLE, Pa., Oct. 30 -- The U.S. Army Heritage Center Foundation issued the following news release:
At 11:00 am on November 11th, 1918, the First World War, one of the most devastating and tragic conflicts the world has ever seen, came to a conclusion. Early on that November morning, senior military and political officials of both the Allied and German armies met in the Compicgne Forest of northern France to finalize and sign the armistice that would bring peace to war torn Europe . . .
