CHICAGO, Oct. 5 -- Chicago Public Schools issued the following news release:
Thanks to legislators' support for historic education funding reform, CPS released a proposal to amend the annual budget, incorporating $450 million in additional revenue. The new resources for the 2018 fiscal year move Chicago students toward equality with the state, put the district on stronger financial footing and prevent midyear budget cuts and furlough days.
