BROWNWOOD, Texas, Oct. 6 -- Howard Payne University issued the following news:

Howard Payne University senior Carla Morales, a Spanish major and kinesiology minor from Magnolia, has been selected to receive a UPS Scholarship provided by the Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas (ICUT) Foundation and its national partner, the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC).

Carla is the daughter of Javier and Veronica Morales and a 2014 graduate of Magnolia High School.
