BOILING SPRINGS, N.C., Aug. 24 -- Gardner-Webb University issued the following news release:
With each stroke through the 64-degree waters of the English Channel, Heather Roka, a 2008 GWU alumna, will be thinking about all the people in her life who inspire her. Roka will attempt her solo swim Aug. 24 at around 7 p.m. (EST). The 31-year-old first thought about crossing the channel as a member of the GWU swim team. She has been training since 2012 to tackle a feat accomplished by 1,6 . . .
