TOPEKA, Kan., Aug. 23 -- The Kansas Department of Education issued the following news:
The Kansas Volunteer Commission (KVC) has awarded five organizations a total of $3,114 in funding to support the Sept. 11 National Day of Service.
The following Kansas organizations, which will host volunteer projects and service activities honoring those who died and those who served on 9/11, received funding:
* Baker Serves - Baker University, $685
