HOONAH, Alaska, Aug. 30 -- The Alaska Department of Public Safety issued the following news release:
The standoff with the barricaded suspect John Marvin Jr. has been resolved with no further loss of life. Marvin was taken into custody shortly after 9:30 this morning. Marvin is the sole defendant believed to be responsible for the shooting of Sergeant Anthony Wallace and Officer Matthew Tokuoka of the Hoonah Police Department.
