SALEM, Ore., Aug. 18 -- The Oregon Department of Human Services issued the following news release:
This summer, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) released the 2009 error rates for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly the Food Stamp program. The national payment error rate for 2009 was the lowest in the program's history, but Oregon's rate was even lower. This means Oregon is among the best in the nation for accuracy in administering SNAP . . .
