ASEAN Concludes Cyclone Nargis Operations in Myanmar

YANGON, Myanmar, Aug. 13 -- The Association of South-East Asian Nations issued the following news release:
The ASEAN Post-Nargis humanitarian effort in Myanmar came to an end on 31 July 2010 with the closure of the Coordinating Office of the ASEAN Humanitarian Task Force (AHTF) in Yangon.
Since it was set up in May 2008, the AHTF was instrumental in raising more than USD 600 million with the major contributions coming from Australia, Canada, the European Union, Jap . . .
