BATESVILLE, Ark., Aug. 9 -- Lyon College issued the following news release:
Lyon College student Elliot Smith was just six years old when he heard the call of the pipes and drums.
Though Smith was horribly sick with the flu, he was determined to attend his first highland games. The experience resonated so much with him that his parents found him in the middle of the night hanging his head out of a second story window listening to the bagpipes.
