SOUTH HADLEY, Mass., April 12 -- Mount Holyoke College issued the following news release:
Members of the Mount Holyoke community, past and present, gathered in Chapin Auditorium on the evening of April 7 to celebrate the second annual Hortense Parker Day, honoring the first known African American student to graduate from Mount Holyoke College, in 1883.
