BOSTON, Dec. 16 -- The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee issued the following news release:

Senators John Kerry and Paul Kirk, together with Congressmen Edward Markey, Michael Capuano and Stephen Lynch today announced that the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2010 approved by Congress earlier this week contains direct federal assistance for various projects in the metro Boston area.
