WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 -- The U.S. Department of Energy's Argonne National Laboratory issued the following news release:
Scientists know clouds play an important role in determining the Earth's temperature, but they don't know to what extent.
They know, too, that aerosols, those tiny particles or liquids suspended in air, also affect the global thermostat, but they aren't sure by how much.
