KNOXVILLE, Tenn., Sept. 3 -- The U.S. Navy issued the following news release:
The city of Knoxville officially kicked off Navy Week Sept. 2 and presented a proclamation to Navy officials in Market Square.
Cmdr. Darren Pontier, commanding officer of the Navy Operations Support Center, accepted the proclamation presented by Bill Lyons, senior director of Policy and Communications for the city of Knoxville.
The proclamation recognizes the close relations . . .
