LOS ANGELES, Dec. 24 -- The City of Los Angeles issued the following news release:
Residents of the Jefferson and Sawtelle areas of South Los Angeles will be the first to participate in the City of Los Angeles' Downspout Disconnection program beginning January 2009. The plan is to capture rainwater for efficient local use and reduce the amount of contaminated stormwater that flows and pollutes local water bodies.
