ANNAPOLIS, Md., Dec. 17 -- The Maryland Department of Agriculture issued the following news release:
Governor Martin O'Malley today announced that the Board of Public Works approved the purchase of 10 easements protecting 1,037.5 acres of prime Maryland farmland in five counties for over $6.6 million in State and local funding. This approval brings the total farmland protected in perpetuity by the Maryland Agricultural Land Preservation Foundation (MALPF) in Maryland to 273,1 . . .
