WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 -- The U.S. Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs issued the following press release:
The Marshall Islands has lost whom is believed to be its first casualty in the War on Terror. On December 4, 2008, U.S. Army Sergeant Solomon T. Sam, was killed in action in Iraq. It has been reported that his vehicle was hit in a suicidal bomb attack, with a Vehicle Born Improvise Explosive Device (VBIED).
