CAMP DENALI, Alaska, Sept. 3 -- The Alaska Department of Military and Veterans Affairs issued the following news release:
The Alaska Army National Guard transported a 26-year-old Woman on Diomede Island with a severe eye injury to Nome for medical treatment Sept 1.
At approximately 2 p.m. the 11th Rescue Coordination Center received a call from the Alaska State Troopers for assistance with the transportation of a distressed person on Diomede Island.
