FORT MEADE, Md., Nov. 20 -- Fort Meade issued the following news release:
Sunday (Nov. 16) marked the German National Day of Mourning, a day when Germans pause to remember those who died in service to their homeland in two world wars and to victims of tyranny.
While Fort Meade may be separated from Germany by a language, six hours and an ocean, the installation holds a place in the annual period of mourning: it is the final resting place of 33 World War II German pr . . .
