ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- Catholic Charities USA issued the following news release:
The latest national survey of 44 local Catholic Charities by Catholic Charities USA highlights an increase in demand for services coupled with a decrease in charitable donations at a critical time when they are needed most.
"I personally receive a call or two per week from donors who have lost their jobs, had a medical emergency after losing health coverage, or have a mortgage . . .
