DHAKA, Bangladesh, Nov. 24 -- The U.S. Embassy issued the following press release:
The "16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence" campaign runs from November 25 to December 10, 2008.
The dates are not accidental: November 25 is the International Day Against Violence Against Women, and December 10 is International Human Rights Day. These 16 days are a bridge between thinking of gender violence as a "women's issue" and understanding it as a hum . . .
