WASHINGTON, Nov. 25 -- U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued the following news release:
The U.S. bishops offered "prayerful support and steadfast solidarity" to the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints in the face of attacks on the church and its members for working to pass California's Proposition 8, which bans same-sex marriage.
