MONTGOMERY, Ala., Nov. 20 -- Gov. Bob Riley, R-Ala., issued the following news release:
The vacancy in Alabama's 7th Senate District today was made official when Governor Bob Riley received a letter from Congressman-elect Parker Griffith, who previously held the seat, informing the Governor of his resignation from the State Senate.
