MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay, Oct. 21 -- The U.S. Embassy issued the following press release:
The United States does not regard increasingly close relations between Russia and Venezuela as an emerging security threat that could create conditions similar to the Cold War of the 20th century, U.S. officials say. But each country is pursuing different interests and different agendas, which makes their relationship unstable and not likely to be enduring.
