FORT SMITH, Ark., May 7 -- The University of Arkansas at Fort Smith issued the following news release:
Normally, the No. 1 seed is a highly-coveted spot, but recent history has proven it to be somewhat of a curse when it comes to the NJCAA Region II baseball tournament.
Take last year, for instance.
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M was the No. 1 seed but lost its opening game to No. 6 seed Rose State.
The Norsemen won their first game in the loser . . .
